American Shad Cutting Board

Coming Soon!
Come make this cutting board and learn new skills! The American shad is native to Connecticut, and in 2003 it was designated the state fish! For hundreds of years shad has provided food and income to native tribes and settlers. Each spring, shad migrate from the Atlantic Ocean up the Connecticut River to spawn.
In this four hour class, you will cut, shape and sand a maple shaped shad. We will then mortise slots and install three walnut fins. Upon completion, a food safe butcher block oil will be applied.
Measuring 7-1/4" wide w/o fins, and 24" long this shad could also be used as a serving board.
